"We had a wonderful stay at Tolsona Lake Lodge and were genuinely very happy with our experience. From the very beginning, the contact with the owner was excellent. He was incredibly kind, friendly, helpful, and welcoming—and even waited for us with dinner when we arrived, which was such a lovely gesture after a long day.
The lodge has a wonderfully traditional, iconic Alaska vibe. The restaurant in particular has so much character, with a pool table and even an antique jukebox. It feels authentic, atmospheric, and almost like stepping onto the set of Northern Exposure.
The location right by the lake is another highlight. The sunsets are beautiful, and you can relax in the gazebo, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and truly feel like you are deep in the heart of Alaska.
The rooms are simple but perfectly fine, and the service was very good. Overall, this is a place full of character, warmth, and authentic Alaskan charm. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it!"
"As Alaska residents for over 50+ years, we appreciated this diamond in the ruff spot. Yes we will be back. Our stay over the 4th of July was more than we could have hoped for. Close to our kids and grandkids camping down the road at the Wilderness campground so we could be with them “camping” during the day but just 5 minutes away to enjoy a warm comfortable bed when we were done camping. Enjoyed the lodges French dip sandwiches. I had the homemade onion rings but had to share with my husband the fries. Both soooo good."

Our car broke down and he offered help all the way through no questions asked, We were able to enjoy the great food, amazing scenery on a canoe and some fishing out on their dock. There are float planes and wildlife to watch if the people are not your joy (though I would wonder why as the locals are fascinating to me).
